Yet for millions of young people with disabilities across Europe, the digital world remains full of barriers: websites that screen readers cannot navigate, educational content with no captions, online forms that cannot be completed without a mouse. These are not minor inconveniences &#8211; they are walls that block access to education, employment, services, and social participation.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">SEOywd (Ensuring Accessibility of Digital and Online Resources for Youth with Disabilities) was created to tear down those walls \u2014 starting with the youth sector.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Launched in April 2025 as an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership in Youth, SEOywd brought together five organisations from Germany, Estonia, Serbia, Italy, and Croatia, united by a shared conviction: that digital spaces built for young people must be accessible to <em>all<\/em> young people. The project set out to equip youth workers with the knowledge and tools to design inclusive digital content, and to directly empower youngsters with disabilities to navigate, use, and co-create accessible digital environments.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">The need was clear. Research showed that in 2023, 96% of the most popular website homepages had detectable accessibility failures. Within the youth work sector &#8211; a space that prides itself on inclusion &#8211; the gap between intention and practice was equally stark. Youth organisations were moving their activities online without the skills or resources to make them genuinely accessible. Alongside the curriculum, an online course provides self-paced, practical learning that can be completed independently or used as the basis for training others.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\"><strong>For youngsters with disabilities<\/strong>, we offer a dedicated online course and a hands-on toolkit of workshops &#8211; covering topics like assistive technology tools, accessible social media, web navigation, online rights, and how to create your own accessible digital content.
